Recently relocated from Evanston, IL, Jim is excited about the opportunity to serve Federated Church as organist and accompanist. He studied music at Hastings College and the University of Michigan and played his first service at Federated. He enjoys organ and piano equally and is an enthusiastic accompanist and collaborator.

Deeply committed to outreach, Jim studied ministry at San Francisco Theological Seminary (PCUSA) in San Anselmo, CA, and earned an M.Div. degree. In addition to church music, Jim has worked as a computer consultant for businesses and nonprofits and continues assisting West Coast clients remotely.

Jim met his life partner, Beth, in California, and they have been married since 1998. She shares Jim’s love for music and is participating in our Bell Choir. Beth’s daughter Megan is married to George Dean, and they live in Oakland, CA, with their two young sons. Jim’s twin sister, Mary, also lives in Columbus; his brother Dave and his wife Peg, live in Des Moines, IA.
